Main Responsibilities

  • As a seasoned culinary professional, the Banquet Sous Chef will oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring seamless execution of events and exceptional guest experiences.
  • Reporting to the Executive Banquet Chef, this role requires effective leadership and management skills to establish plans for long-term growth and profitability of the culinary division and the hotel.Key Areas of Focus
    • Team Management: Coordinate employee selection, training, development, and evaluation to ensure established cultural and core standards are met.
    • Food and Beverage Operations: Control labor and operating expenses through effective planning, budgeting, purchasing decisions, and inventory control, while focusing on creative cost control and revenue generation solutions.
    • Guest Experience: Maintain visibility in the operation, recognize and maintain relationships with regular guests, and cultivate relationships with new patrons through effective marketing and personal relationships.
    • Culinary Excellence: Work closely with the food and beverage leadership team to design creative banquet menus and amenity options, ensuring an exceptional product.Leadership and Innovation
      • Lead by example, demonstrating honesty, integrity, and a commitment to innovation, while encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
      • Advocate for sound financial and business decision-making, and participate in menu tastings and special event planning to provide input on culinary options and presentation styles.Customer Service and Feedback
        • Provide and support service behaviors that exceed customer satisfaction and retention, improving service by communicating and assisting individuals to understand guest needs.
